This is undoubtedly one of the world's best learner's bikes. I know that's a bold statement, but I've ridden the new Pampera long enough and far enough to get the drift. But the really smart thing about this bike is that Gas Gas has indeed made a decent machine for beginners, but because of the grunty cc four-stroke engine learners won't have to 'trade up' when they've developed the skills to ride a bit faster. This bike has enough go to keep you interested long after you've first taken the plunge, and that's because it's based on the Gas Gas FSR engine. The crankcases are the same, although the Pampera version has the '05 bore and stroke 95 x The muffler is the same - a solid-looking item with a riveted end-cap that you can drill out when you have to repack the cylinder. The main reason for going to a carburettor was to save money. The reason for going to a was that Gas Gas no longer has a cc four-stroke engine in its dirt bike range. Spark is supplied by a Ducati digital CDI unit, and start is electric with a kick-start back-up. We had no problems with the starter on this bike; it fired up smoothly and quickly every time - which is something that can't be said for every small volume European bike that comes to our very public, not even slightly secret testing ground. Some of them sound like a coughing seal. Overall the bike seems nicely finished and the ergos are good too. This bike does not have the rock-hard seat found on all the other Gas Gas models right now, so you can ride all day without the fear of developing a case of nuclear monkey butt. The Pampera is probably slightly cramped for taller riders, but that's because the bars are a little low compared to the setup on the enduro. The instrument pack is very straight forward and easy to use and the numerals, although digital, are easy to read when you're thundering along a trail. For the trail, the Pampera is blessed with a damn fine engine. Going to cc with a Dell'Orto carb did not produce more power, but it did give the torque a hurry up. What you get when you yank on the throttle is a healthy bark from the muffler and a willing surge of power that comes on strong, but not in a manner that will frighten the chipmunks.
Spanish factory Gas Gas has a good history of making quality off-roaders and they have a string of world titles to their name. The Gas Gas Pampera's Marzocchi forks and Boge shock can cope with quite tricky trails easily and flatter the abilities of newer riders. With just kg to haul about the Gas Gas Pampera's cc, two-stroke motor has an easy time of it. It runs on pre-mix, so remember to carry a bottle of stroker oil with you on longer journeys. Being a two-stroke the Gas Gas Pampera is hasgas pamper to fix should any engine woes raise their head. Prices are lower than its Japanese rivals, but in terms of build quality the Gas Gas Pampera gives little away. Find a Gas Gas Pampera for sale. After being off the road for nigh on ten months the Ossa Explorer has finally been returned to Ossa following a refund hasgas pamper the purchase price. Last May, hasgas pamper, after numerous relatively minor but very inconvenient problems the bike suffered main bearing failure which Ossa, to their credit, repaired hasgas pamper promptly. My experiences with the bike left me feeling Ossa failed to appreciate the wider implications of building a bike which targeted customers outside their core customer base of club trials riders. One which would bring the company into contact with customers with potentially higher expectations of sales and service support… For a start trail bikes are more likely to cover more miles at higher revs for longer periods. Buzzing along at rpm in top gear on a stretch of dual carriageway is a world away from plonking around a disused quarry using short busts of throttle to climb over a trials section. The i trials gearbox ratios fitted to the Explorer [ie five ultra close ratios topped off by a very tall sixth] made keeping up with the pieluchomajtki seni fit&dry Pamperas on the road sections very hard work. The Ossa never seemed to have the right gear available for the job in hand. When climbing hills on the road it was either falling off the torque curve in top or screaming its nuts hasgas pamper in fifth. Not pleasant. It was never happy. When Gas Gas developed the Pampera they had the good sense [and presumably the development budget] to build it with a proper wide ratio set of gears, hasgas pamper. It makes a huge difference, hasgas pamper. The rear suspension failure is a very different and potentially very dangerous ball game, hasgas pamper. As far as I could tell the bushes in my dog bone linkages seized causing the dog bones to shear under stress resulting in complete rear suspension collapse.
